Darren Behar | General Manager & Partner
Darren’s experience extends across a broad range of areas including communication, stakeholder and media relations, reputation management, change, sustainability, marketing, brand, positioning, strategy, and operations.
Most recently, Darren was an executive at Liberty Financial, responsible for marketing and communications across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this, he held senior positions at financial and professional services firms.
Darren began his career as a journalist. He was a senior correspondent and columnist at The Sydney Daily Telegraph as well as The Daily Mail in the UK and won a number of awards for his work.
Alongside his undergraduate degree, he has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and received an MBA from Melbourne Business School. He is also a member of Special Olympics Victoria’s fundraising committee.
Darren enjoys spending time with his family, reading and pretending he can still play football (soccer).
Aravin Stickney | Head of Kamber
Aravin has more than 10 years’ experience as a professional writer, editor and communication strategist in the public sector. He led the development of La Trobe University’s verbal brand and was instrumental in the creation of the university’s publications and content marketing operations.
As La Trobe’s first Content Strategist, Aravin created and led the execution of numerous multi-channel content campaigns integrating digital, social and print assets to create seamless user journeys targeted at the university’s domestic and international markets.
He was instrumental in creating communication strategies that prescribed tactics and communication protocols for a major joint venture between La Trobe University and the Victorian Government. Aravin has also written communication strategies for the Victorian Government and Deakin University.
Prior to Kamber, Aravin played a key role in creating and leading Swinburne University’s Student Information Centre – the university’s focal point of interactions with all current and prospective students.
Aravin has a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from Monash University and a Master of Arts (Professional Communication) from Deakin University.
Bradley Hopper | Video Producer
Since joining Kamber, Brad has been involved in video production projects for Pepperjack Wines, Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Novartis, Bank of Melbourne and the NSW Department of Trade and Investment.
He specialises creative branded content, animation and motion graphics, interviews, profiles, event-based content and videos for internal communications purposes.
Prior to joining Kamber, Bradley worked at visual effects powerhouse The Mill as a Final Cut Editor and After Effects designer on a multitude of campaigns for global clients such as Audi, British Airways, Johnnie Walker and Vodafone to name a few. Prior to this he worked at the London HQ of branding agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
Bradley has written and directed a number of fashion films that he produced alongside filmmaker Karl Pearson, these span from independent London designers right up to Louis Vuitton.
Bradley has a BA Hons in Broadcast Post Production from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication.
Cale | Content Producer & Channel Manager
Cale has worked a combined 10 years in both state and federal government. He has extensive experience in content production, professional communications and audit investigation working within Queensland Treasury and as a Client Advisor in the Department of Human Services.
He has previously worked as a journalist and content producer with Fairfax-owned newspapers both in digital and print and was the recipient of the Mercury Journalism Award in 2015.
Cale has extensive knowledge in social media channel management and community engagement. He leads digital landscape audits across all channels to report and advise on forward strategy.
Cale has a Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Wollongong, graduating with distinction.
Briony Simpson – Senior Marketing Specialist
Briony is a marketing and content specialist with 6 years’ experience. She provides expert marketing advice to SenateSHJ’s Australian offices, as well as a range of clients across the public and private sectors. Briony has a unique approach to her work, with an emphasis on strategy and creativity.
She has experience across the whole spectrum of marketing, with particular expertise in strategic marketing, content development, social media strategy, website design, graphic design and event management. Briony believes in considered and direct communication and has a keen eye for detail.
Briony graduated from Swinburne University with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Marketing and Human Resources.
Oli Wedd – Graphic & Motion Designer
Oliver is a designer specialising in motion, graphic design and illustration. He is passionate about creating beautiful images and bringing them to life.
He has worked in digital agencies and production companies including Clemenger and Renegade Films creating innovate and engaging branded content.
Oliver specialises in logo design, entire branding solutions from print to digital, product and packaging design, animation, information design and character design. Since joining Kamber and SenateSHJ Oliver has created graphics for a variety of corporate and government clients including WorkSafe Victoria, Bayer, Distance Education Centre Victoria and the Victorian State Government.
Thomas Skinner – Senior Client Manager
Thomas Skinner has over six years’ experience in in-house and consultancy communication roles.
He has experience in a variety of organisations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors covering healthcare, politics and luxury consumer.
He specialises in digital and social media, crisis communications, media relations and stakeholder management.
Thomas has a Bachelor of Arts (Broadcast Journalism) from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom and a Diploma in TV Presenting from the London Academy of Media, Film and TV.
