Instagram is testing updates to Stories including a revamp of Boomerang
At F8 this year, Instagram announced a new UI for the Stories camera. Tech blogger and reverse engineer expert Jane Manchun Wong has discovered that Instagram is going a few steps further. Instagram is testing new camera icons, new modes for Boomerang and Layout for Stories.

Facebook is simplifying Group privacy
“People have historically been able to choose between being public, closed or secret settings for their group.” Now Facebook’s making a simplified privacy model for groups by removing the secret option. The change is supposed to “better match people’s expectations and help provide more clarity.”

Twitter is testing search for Direct Messages
To make it easier to find and follow up on conversations, Twitter is testing a search bar for Direct Messages. The search bar is currently being tested across the web and iOS.

Dark mode is coming to LinkedIn
LinkedIn is the latest platform to jump on the Dark Mode bandwagon. Dark Mode is still in the early stages of development with only some parts of the app having been adapted.

Snapchat announces Spectacles 3
Snapchat announced the latest iteration of Spectacles this week. Spectacles are designed to help you capture what you’re seeing in real-time and version 3 will be able to do that in 3D. The “two HD cameras on either side of the frame capture depth and dimension the way your eyes do, and power new augmented reality creative tools to enhance your Snaps.”
