Instagram adds Stories ‘likes’
Instagram is giving users the ability to ‘like’ Stories they see on the platform, without having to start up a DM conversation. The Stories likes are not public, and will only be visible to the content creator.

Snapchat enables top creators to create mid-roll ads
Snapchat is experimenting with another monetisation opportunity for Snap creators, with mid-roll ads to be included in Snap Star Stories. Creators will be able to turn ads on within their stories, providing them with a directly attributable revenue pathway.

TikTok shares new insights into TikTok clips
TikTok has released a new report outlining the role the platform can play in the evolving path to product purchasing, and the ways in which TikTok transforms how brands and consumers interact. One key finding was that 44% of survey respondents said they had discovered new products by viewing brand videos.

LinkedIn tests option to hide political posts
LinkedIn is giving some users the ability to hide political posts from their news feeds. The option, which is currently available to some US users, will use keywords and signals from users, along with input from LinkedIn’s editorial team, to identify political posts and eliminate them from your feed.

Meta announces new virtual event
Later this month, Meta will be hosting a virtual event where a range of their internal experts will discuss how they are using AI to build the metaverse. The speakers, including Mark Zuckerberg, will outline the different applications of the metaverse to facilitate the next level of digital connection.
