Google is looking to expand their search capacity within YouTube videos by launching a new test to search for keywords within video clips. This will be done by using either uploaded or auto-generated video captions. Users can search for this via the ‘Search in video’ feature.

Instagram is launching a new way to celebrate your year, with 2022 recap templates for Reels. This will take you through the process of adding posts and videos you have uploaded throughout the year into a dedicated Reels template you can share with your followers.

Twitter switches brand profiles to squares

Twitter continues to revamp the platform by switching brand profile avatars to a squared shape, with the goal to counter impersonation. Additionally, they have added gold checkmarks for brands, which not able to be bought. These aspects therefore allow users to identify which accounts are official brands and which are not.

Facebook adds facilitation of Reels creation

Facebook adds another way to encourage users to share Reels on Facebook, by adding a heap of tools and processes designed to highlight short video clips in feeds and facilitate simplified creation of short-form video content.

Snapchat adds new Snapchat+ elements for holidays

Snapchat furthers their Snapchat+ features for the holidays, with the addition of three new options within the app. These include; customisation of their camera button, custom backgrounds in chats in the app, and a ‘Story Boost’ element, which will amplify subscriber Stories to more viewers.
