In this week’s Platform Five: Meta expands ad targeting for teens
What’s changed in the last seven days? What does it mean?
Meta changes ad targeting for teens, Instagram replaces shop tab with new post button, New YouTube Analytics updates, Twitter creates automatically-opening For You page, and Meta is shutting down its ‘Creator Studio’ app.
Let’s take a look at these changes in more detail.
Meta changes ad targeting for teens
Meta is increasing its restrictions on how teens can be targeted by ads in its apps, with gender set to be removed as a targeting option. Meta will also be removing in-app engagement, such as following certain Instagram profiles or Facebook Pages.

New YouTube Analytics updates
YouTube is bringing data from YouTube Analytics into YouTube Studio, with a breakdown of subscribers gained by each content type to be available within Studio. YouTube is also adding a new display to show what content your audience is watching across Live, Shorts and Video content.

Twitter creates automatically-opening For You page
Twitter is rolling out a new For You feature, which will show suggested tweets first rather than tweets from people you follow. This means each time the app is opened, users will see advertised content first on the For You tab, before moving to the Following tab to see their chosen content.

Meta is shutting down its ‘Creator Studio’ app
Meta is centralising their creator tools into Meta Business Suite, and will soon be closing Creator Studio to ensure all content creators migrate to Business Suite. Meta Business Suite is a more comprehensive Page management app, with features including A/B testing tools, scheduling and messaging options, and helpful prompts.
