Twitter Inc. merges into new entity, X Corp.

The next stage for Twitter could include a name change as the company is now being rolled into another corporate entity called ‘X Corp’, under Elon Musk’s ownership. This change links back to Musk’s vision for an ‘everything app’, and Musk’s decision to purchase Twitter as part of his future planning for the X app.

Microsoft integrates Snapchat lenses into teams

Snapchat announces a new integration with Microsoft Teams, which enables Teams users to add Snapchat AR effects to their faces during Teams meetings, for more fun. However, doubts have been raised with the difficulty to turn these effects off when being in a work meeting.

TikTok launches new push on in-stream shopping

TikTok is encouraging in-stream shopping, following the success of its shopping initiatives in China. The app is launching a new push with a range of sellers designed to boost shopping take-up in the app. TikTok have also invited selected retailers to participate in its in-app shopping option, offering them big subsidies on shipping and sales to help maximise interest.

Meta develops ways to share status between apps

Meta is looking to increase the integration between its apps, with an update to the way that users share a Status update from WhatsApp to Facebook stories. Currently, users can already share a Status update to Facebook but it requires manual intervention, whereas this new development is an automatic process.

Twitter unveils new doge logo

Elon Musk’s latest ‘hilarious prank’, is to replace the Twitter icon in the app to the Doge character, which is also the symbol for Dogecoin, the meme-based cryptocurrency that Musk has been a big supporter of in the past.
